The Last Of The Vintage DC Models

The Robin model is the last of three Revell reproductions of 1966 vintage Aurora model kits. While the original Superman and Batman kits are rare enough (selling around $150 or so a piece on E-Bay), the original Robin kit is by far the rarest, fetching anywhere from $250 to $350 depending on condition. Even the reproductions are rare enough that I've seen them sell for $50 or more. I was lucky to get this one at a reasonable $25 plus shipping.

This kit was fitted nicely (much better than the Superman kit) but the precarious position of the figure made the final mounting a challenge.


Now that I've done these, I'm eagerly anticipating the release of a reproduction of the legendary Aurora Wonder Woman kit. My new favourite model company, Moebius Models, is due to release it in April. The original kit fetches north of $650 if unbuilt and still in the shrink wrap. Fortunately, the reproduction will run around $30!
