And for those who haven't seen Resident Alien, think My Favourite Martian by way of Northern Exposure.  With a little Law & Order thrown in.

Update:  I got through half of episode 2 of this one and that's it.  I was not impressed when the first move Tudyk's alien made in episode 1 was to kill the man he winds up impersonating for simple expedience.  I tried to ignore that moral miscue and enjoy Tudyk mugging his way through the alien's first drunk and first murder investigation.  By the middle of episode 2 he's fantasizing about Bugs Bunny ways of killing the one kid in town who can see his true form.  Between that really problematic concept and the pretty boring execution of the rest of the story, I'm done.  

Love Alan Tudyk. This show though? Not so much.
