As regular visitors to this blog (all four of you) know, the CW has been sold to Nexstar and almost all of its DC Comics content has already been jettisoned and it's at least an even bet that the rest isn't likely to stick around past the end of their next seasons, if that long.
They also dumped other scripted content including Nancy Drew, the remakes of Roswell and the 4400, Riverdale and more.
It has been reported that the new owners are interested in going to an unscripted and cheap model.
It would seem that the "cheap" part is the real driving force.
The unscripted "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" will film one more season early next year and then end. So says long time cast member and the show's Canadian content, Colin Mochrie.
So far, the new owners have yet to announce new content to replace everything they've cancelled, but I expect that in the next month or so they'll roll out half a dozen "reality" shows I will never watch.
The truly sad part is they'll probably end up turning a profit.
