Nope, not a typo.
Apparently (and you do have to wonder) the cops in an area of northern India are claiming that 200 kg (around 440 pounds) of marijuana has been eaten.
By rats.
The whole story is here if you want to read it. It seems that there's some questions beyond just trying to figure out if there's a convenience store missing a half a ton or so of Doritos nearby. The stoner rats apparently struck earlier and chowed down on about 500 KG (1,100 pounds) of weed in another case. The cops initially blamed rain and flooding for the loss before passing the joint...er...blame to the rats.
It all seems a little sketchy to me but they seem to be sticking to the rat story now. My advice to anyone in northern India who needs a cop in the near future is to tell the operator you've got snacks and a big tv. Just a thought.
