In all the carnage floating in the wake of the Nexstar acquisition of the CW, I totally forgot about this:

Gotham Knights will follow the adventures of Batman's adopted son and a ragtag band of ridiculously good looking 20-somethings pretending to be teenagers, as he tries to clear his name in the murder of his caped crusader father.
So, another Batman show without Batman. That's Birds of Prey, Gotham, Batwoman, Pennyworth and now Gotham Knights. Titans, too if you care to include it. For WB's biggest earner, he sure is shy of showing his face on TV.
Anyhow, it was announced this week that some new actors had been added to the cast of Gotham Knights. Feel free to look them up, I can't be bothered. While the news that the show will include some interesting, never seen in live action characters like Carrie Kelly (the first female Robin), Stephanie Brown (a one time Robin AND Batgirl) and Harper Row (a little known Batman adjacent character, Bluebird) is interesting, it's like finding out your favourite band is playing on deck right after the iceberg hits the ship.
Given what WBDiscovery did to the Batgirl movie a few months ago, if I'm cast or crew on Gotham Knights, I'm not putting a down payment on anything any time soon.
I feel bad for the intrepid little cadre of super-attractive 20-somethings that have hitched their wagons to this one. There's not much chance they get a second season and a mid-season hook or even a pre-airing cancellation wouldn't be in any way surprising at this point. Gotham Knights is almost certainly destined to be a footnote on the CW's tombstone.
