Hands Down

So my job involves stringing a lot of wire and cable.  I handle the stuff all day long and as anyone in the industry will tell you, it's murder on your hands.  The insulation has a way of just ripping the moisture out of your skin.

After a few years of fighting the reality, I finally gave in and started using moisturizing cream regularly.  It's not girly if you actually have no moisture in your hands.  At least that's what I tell myself.

Still, even with regular applications of moisturizer, between the wire and the hand tools, my fingers get pretty beat up, particularly around the base of the nail area on pretty much all my digits.  Most of the time it's tolerable and heals on its own but every once in a while I get a ding that requires more attention.

I usually have bandages in the medicine cabinet and will put a little antiseptic cream under one and wear it to bed.  Hardly ever will I keep one on during the day, since the work I do usually rips the bandage off before lunch.

The other day I was in my local drug store to replenish my first-aid stuff and found a nice GB-ish treat.

Today I had a booboo on my left thumb that was bad enough to put a bandage on and leave on all day.  I babied it.  I admit it.

Oh and what was that treat I mentioned finding at the drug store?
