Today, Of All Days, We Could All Use A Laugh.

Like everyone, even without really digging into it I found today to be a pretty sombre day.  News sites all over the web all highlighted the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks in various ways and even once I was personally ready to move on to something else, there would be another story to click on, another video to watch.

Finally, I found myself watching David Letterman's intense September 17, 2001 return to the airwaves and all the memories and emotions it evoked.  Somehow, mercifully, YouTube felt what I was feeling and found a way to change the subject.  And what a way.

In that vertical panel they have on the right side of the screen, scrunched in with other 9/11 related videos they snuck in a short video of Tim Conway and Harvey Corman Emmy acceptance highlights.  How or why the algorithm shoehorned that in there I shall never know but there it was and the click was irresistible.  After a day of recalling misery, hate, fear and ugliness, I am beyond grateful to have found the link.  It was two minutes of nostalgic fun and worth looking up.  What was next to that is what is worth posting.

If this doesn't help you pack away the ugly feelings that an anniversary like today brings, nothing will.

Watch it.  Right to the end.

You're welcome.
