2022 is not really starting well for me.

It is starting with a bang.  Not a good, fun, "oh, I can't wait for another one like that" kind of bang.

The job I so loved has evaporated.  I am among the ranks of the unemployed.

As many of us unemployed folks do, I fired up my computer two days ago.  

"No Boot Device"

Uh-oh.

Hard drive.  You know that place where one keeps all those useful things...like a resume....

Poof.  Gone.  Unrecoverable.  Believe me, I've tried.  For two days.  And a visit to the guys who actually know what they're doing with this kind of thing.

Sorry, sir.  You're fucked.  And again, not in a good, fun "oh, I can't wait for another one like that" kind of way.

The only slight up side was that the actual laptop is fine, so a relatively cheap replacement hard drive has solved the immediate issue.

All I have to do now is rebuild...everything...

2022.  It's not 2021 but it's sure fuckin' trying...
