Wonder Man - So Far? Hate It.

I was so happy when they cast Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Wonder Man. He's a great actor and Marvel is way too white. Changing a lesser known character like Wonder Man is the right move.

First 10 minutes.

Boring.

Then the main character can't park his car.

No, really.

And if he'd backed it in like a grown up, he'd have had tons of room.

And now they're watching Midnight Cowboy.  I'd rather pull my toenails out with rusty pliers.

7 and 2/3 episodes to go.

Change my mind.

SPOILERS FOLLOW!

Last chance.

UPDATE:

Episode 2. Halfway in.

Hate it more.

This is a show about an actor trying to get a part. Why am I supposed to care?

Episode 3?

Slight improvement by focus shift. Doorman. An obscure Marvel character. I like the odd pulls.

Weird enough to go from I hate this to I still hate this but it's less of a burning hate, more of a smoulder.

The Josh Gad gag is genuinely funny. The rest, meh.

Episode 4.

Starts with two actors acting at each other. Mutual act-sturbation. Good grief.

This show is almost halfway over and 'Wonder Man' is only on film as a bad movie at the beginning of episode 1 so far.

Why on earth do super hero shows think we don't want to see super heroes doing super hero things?

I don't give a damn about out of work actors. I would never voluntarily watch this show if it wasn't Marvel. What a piece of garbage.

Episode 5. An actual fight. Woo-Hoo. Then a bunch more 'let's hide the super powers so I can be an actor" that I just want to punch.

Episode 6. More acting lessons. Good grief. I want to make this show ANYTHING but what they made here. This is excruciating. I'm glad I'm writing while I watch it. At least something is entertaining in this room. This show was written by an actor, I'm certain. Furthermore, an actor who thinks ACTING is interesting.

Newsflash. It's not. Watching a show about actors acting is like you sitting in my living room watching me write. It's boring. Flat out, boring. I would rather be watching a terrible movie about something fun than a 'good' show about actors acting. It's excruciating.

Episode 7. More let's hide my super powers. Then the big reveal. Shocker.

Episode 8. Mercifully the last one. Full costume reveal. 13 minutes in to the last episode. I hate that, so much.

I'll give them that the twist was well executed. But it's Ben Kingsley, so if it didn't work, that would be the news. The last episode has 20 minutes of actual super hero show. What a waste.

What a farce. I hate this show with every fibre of my being. Awful.
