My Remedy For A Crappy Day

Yesterday was one of those days. By mid-day I was wishing I'd stayed in bed. Just a totally "unsmooth" type day.

Then I met this guy:

He's an American Kestrel being hand raised after being dumped from the nest before he'd fledged. I was lucky enough to get to hold (and pet!) him and doubly lucky to get a snap taken so I could share my good fortune with everyone.

After this, the bad day just faded from memory.

He must have some really sharp claws if you need a glove like that! Did you kitties give you a big sniff down after that?

That is awesome, GB!! This is C4L being too lazy to login, :)

Hey folks!
The glove was unnecessary (they have it for when the bird is bigger, if they need it) but looked so cool!

I gotta say, this was about the coolest thing I've run into, ever!

Cool!

Did an individual rescue this bird or were you at a rehab facility?

It was a family that found the bird. I doubt I'd have the ability or patience to hand rear a raptor.

Truly awesome.
