Black Widow. About Damned Time.

Actually, this one is so past due that the character has already died in the main MCU timeline.

I think it says something about Hollywood that the obvious breakout female star of the sausage party that had been the MCU up to Captain Marvel had to wait until after he character was dead to get her solo film.

All that said, I'm just thrilled to see a Black Widow film on the near horizon.  May 2020 they say.  In fact, it's so close that the first poster dropped today.

Hint to artists.  Don't have your subject tuck their chin to their neck.  It's not a good look on anyone.

I'll be honest.  This is a shitty poster.  Scarlett Johansen is a fabulously beautiful woman and they made her look way more masculine in this than she has ever looked at any time in her life.  The artist has captured her features but not the classic beauty that they comprise when painted or photographed well.  It looks like a comic book cover for a run of the mill issue of a Black Widow comic.  The layout is fine but the lack of colour, terrible choice of pose and poor artistic execution make this a big fail.  At least they didn't artificially pinch her waist or inflate her chest as so many poster makers are want to do.  I will also give them points for not doing the typical Marvel/Star Wars/Disney orange/blue colour scheme that seems to be the only way poster makers know how to colour anything anymore.

Captain Marvel is a bit subtle about it.
This?  Not so subtle.

  Also, not subtle.

Even twins are one blue, one orange.

Seriously.  Did Hollywood throw out their green crayons?  Purple?  White even?

Still, crap poster aside, I'm stoked for this one.  I'm more a DC guy than a Marvel guy but this one interests me far more than the soon to be released Joker movie with Joaquin Phoenix.
