43 years old.
Well, that just sucks. The Black Panther star died of cancer. 43 years old.
He starred as Jackie Robinson in "42" and of course as T'Challa in Captain America - Civil War, Black Panther and the last 2 Avengers films. Much of the time he was filming over the last 4 years he was simultaneously battling cancer. He never spoke about it publicly.
Hollywood being what it is, he could have soaked up a ton of sympathy and been a media darling for his bravery and tenacity. He chose the quiet path of privacy. Not a common choice in Tinseltown, but I only wish there was a way I could shake his hand in admiration.
I suspect one day he'll be the subject of a biopic of his own. Ironic as hell...
