A New Powder Room , Star Wars Style!

I finally found a few bucks to put a powder room on the main floor this summer.

And that gave me the chance to decorate!

Keep in mind, this room is tiny.  Less than a meter by 1.5 meters (32 inches by 5 feet), just enough room for a toilet and sink.  You gotta be creative to be creative in such a small space.

To the surprise of no one who knows me, first move is paint the place purple.

Then we lay a very nifty Star Wars floor:

That's a 2000 piece puzzle, embedded in epoxy resin.

Then I had a helluva time dealing with the problem of a door in my living room.  The final solution is sliding mirrored doors.  Ultimately cheaper than conventional door/wall installation since the door pretty much fills the exact size of the room.  Inside the doors is not pretty, so I did this:

Those are single piece printed stickers, 27 inches by 80 inches.  A BITCH to apply because they're inside a frame.  Worth every bit of effort, I think!

Found these on Etsy.  My thanks to Carine at Etsy for the custom job!

No powder room is complete without a decent sink.  For this, I went the extra mile.

That's a vinyl wrap, designed for a beer fridge on the most perfect for the theme sink you'll ever see.

Thanks to Mike at Etsy for the assist!

You can't see it because of the glare, but there's a very neat swirl light that compliments the theme nicely.

Yep, that's a Death Star mirror and if you zoom in on the light switch, a very naughty Storm Trooper.

Above the toilet, another Star Wars puzzle, this time showcasing Star Wars comics.  My passions collide!

It was a wee bit disconcerting to use the toilet the first few times...

I needed toilet paper and a towel held somehow, so LEGO Star Wars makes an appearance.

The LEGO 3d printing comes courtesy of Sarah at Etsy.  What a fantastic way to hang toilet paper! Thanks Sarah!
If you zoom in, you'll see two custom electric junction covers (old house, it's illegal to just bury them in the wall if they have live wires running through them, even if there's no switch or outlet) courtesy of Jason at Etsy, who also did my naughty Storm Trooper.  Thanks Jason!

Finally, it's all about the details.  The toilet is held down by Darth Vader on the left...

...and Queen Amidala on the right.

A couple of things remain to finish this off.  There' a Darth Vader soap dispenser that will replace the big Irish Spring bottle, currently somewhere in U.S. Postal Limbo. There's also an empty spot on the wall directly opposite Han Solo in carbonite.  I had envisioned the toilet roll holder and towel holder being at either end of the little room and hanging something between them, but as soon as the toilet went in and I had a test sit (I said "sit") it was obvious that the toilet paper could only live in the spot it ended up.

That leaves me with a weird, off centre, blank spot.  Not quite sure what will end up there yet.  I have ideas.  Lots and lots of ideas...
