So That Happened.

It appears that the company I've been sponging off of using for the free hosting of The Purple Hatch II has discontinued their free forum feature.  They don't even offer a pay version to keep it running.

So.

Of late, most of my online chit chat has been at the Purple Hatch rather than here at ancient, old school blogland.  I don't know that many people were actively checking out the PH in the last few years and with the exception of the doggedly loyal Barnum, not many have posted over the last few years.  Is it time to shut down? 

At least for the short term, the answer would be yes.  As much as I like chatting with Barnum every so often, to go looking for another free forum host to create the Purple Hatch III just seems a little Quixotic at this point.  Unless I get a wave of email at gettheaddy@yahoo.ca or a ton of comments to this post, I think we can consider the grand experiment complete.

While the PH might be gone, I'm still regularly motivated to share my opinion with the interwebs and I am in no way interested in returning to social media.

So.

Not going to predict a massive resurgence in my blog activity, but without any other comment outlet, it's a safe bet I'll be posting here more than I have been in the last few years.

If there's an outcry for PHIII, I'll put some research in but if The Purple Hatch has closed for good, thank you to each and every poster over the decade or so it existed in our dusty little corner of the web.  Good times.
