That alone is enough to keep me fanboy happy but there was an Easter egg buried in the episode that you might have missed if you weren't:
A) Paying close attention.
And
B) A fan of the Stargate franchise.
Bill Nye guested along with Neil DeGrasse Tyson on an episode of Stargate Atlantis, both playing as themselves, the famous science personalities they are. In the episode it's revealed that series main character Dr. Rodney McKay has a combative history with both men.
In the 20th episode of season 3 of Blindspot, Patterson is concerned that her parents are having marital issues but it turns out that her Dad, Nye, is upset that her Mom (Mrs. Patterson, so far no first name) is co-publishing a paper with one Dr. Rodney McKay, who he describes as his "nemesis".
Small, geek-only bits like this just make me so happy!
Also, kudos to Blindspot for having yet another cool, geek friendly plot point. They had an episode centered on capturing an assassin who gets paid in high value, rare comic books. Seriously. Flash Comics #1 plays heavily in the episode. Just one of those things that would have just seemed totally impossible when I was a youngling.
And we still don't know Patterson's first name. We DO know that Bill Nye thinks it's a great name and Patterson herself obviously does not.
In other me related news, some days I fix phone lines. Some days are better than that...
Don't ask me what they one's in the tank are. Beyond being cool, I've forgotten the name except for the "Mexican" something or other. The white snake was beyond cool. Docile, relaxed and absolutely gorgeous.
Some days just bring a smile to my face. Usually for something non-work related.
