The discussion board portion of an article I was reading just now has yielded what might be the best reboot idea I've heard in a decade.
Interestingly, the discussion was regarding a potential reboot currently floating around in the Hollywood imagination.
That reboot was an interracial version of Bewitched.
That is not the great reboot idea I wanted to talk about.
Whether a rebooted Bewitched happens, works or doesn't work isn't really my concern as I wouldn't be watching regardless of the racial mix. American comedy stopped being funny sometime between The Jeffersons and the day before Friends first aired. My interest in it died around the same time.
What does interest me is the idea floated in the aforementioned discussion below the article I was reading.
A Chi McBride (The best part of Pushing Daisies, Human Target and Hawaii Five-0 to name a few) led reboot of Nero Wolfe.
I'd watch the HELL out of that and I generally hate lawyer shows. McBride would bring a fantastic mix of gravitas and gruff humour to a weekly lawyer show. Truth be told, it doesn't even have to be Nero Wolfe. An original character would work just fine. McBride has been super supporting actor guy for a decade and it's time he got a shot at the lead.
