I am a man of simple tastes. It's easy to please me in inexpensive, unsophisticated ways and I am content with that arrangement.
A good pepperoni pizza.
An episode of Star Trek that doesn't focus on Deanna Troi or her mother.
My cat catching a mouse (it happened exactly once).
An unexpected day off from work.
An episode of BBC's The Repair Shop.
These are things that really make me truly happy. I try to find something like that at least once a day. To my mind true happiness is a puzzle we have to put together ourselves a piece at a time rather than something we should expect or feel entitled to. A little effort and I can find something to make me happy even on a bad day.
So why am I telling you this?
Because this made me very happy just now.
That's right. An $11 tee shirt with Deadpool crossing a rainbow on a unicorn.
Come home after a crap day, take off the company logo and put this on my fat self and I look in the mirror and can't help but smile. Crap day? What crap day? I've got Deadpool on a unicorn on.
Puzzle pieces folks. One at a time.
