Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Trailer Proves My Point

Some folks may wonder why I'm not a James Gunn fan and why his taking over the DC Comics movie and film division is concerning to me.

The first bit of the new trailer is EXACTLY why I'm concerned.

I know from the context and the editing that having Drax, a super strong character played by a presumably super strong former wrestler, whip a ball into the face of an alien child is supposed to be funny.  For the life of me, I can't figure out how anyone could actually find humour in that.  My reaction was one of disgust and horror.

That anyone would use that scene to represent and sell a product they were willing to put their name on leaves me flummoxed.  The fact that the person in question is now in complete charge of the direction of all future movies and television involving my favourite comic book characters is slightly nauseating.

To be fair, the rest of the trailer looks great and the film might actually be pretty good.  Nothing with Chris Pratt in it could ever hope to rise higher than that in my eyes.
