The five or six regular readers here know that I had a whole blog suspended last year for no reason I could figure out at the time. In short order the good folks at Blogger had it back up and running but I never did find out why it had been suspended in the first place.
Fast forward to this evening and I get an e-mail saying one of my posts has been suspended. It's one of those ooooold LOST recaps from waaaaay back and apparently it violates the virus and malware guidelines.
Now I couldn't add, program or even link to a virus or malware if my life depended on it, so I am a little puzzled.
I looked at the post in question and there were two links to photos from the episode, and that's the only thing that I could identify as a possible issue. If something virus-ee or malware-ee has been added to whatever pages those were since a decade ago when I posted the recap, I suppose that might explain it. It's not like I'm checking on the various links I posted back when my hair had yet to sprout any grey.
So, I deactivated the links and asked for a review. If last time is anything to go by, it won't take long to get a decision from Blogger.
Honestly, it's not like that post is one that's near and dear to my heart, so I am not at all concerned with the outcome.
What I am VERY curious about is why now and who or what flagged the post? You gotta go WAY back through this blog of almost 1200 posts to even find that post and then take the time to follow one of the links (assuming they were the issue) and then send a note to Blogger. That's a LOT of sifting through all the crap I have posted over the years to find something to complain about. I'm just not that interesting, I wouldn't have thought.
I suppose it could be some kind of web-crawler program that's responsible, and if so that's a big gold star to the obsessive compulsive person who wrote THAT code.
Anyhow, if you know of how, or can conceive of another way this happened, I'd love to hear from you.
Update and correction. The "post" in question is actually a separate blog. I used to create a new blog for each set of 2 recaps to keep them easy to find instead of having to scroll through the whole blog to find one recap or another. I suppose that makes it easier to stumble across, but honestly I can't imagine how anyone could find them since I removed the links to them ages ago.
The mystery continues.
