One of my favourite genres is the sword fight heavy adventure story. Few IPs embody that genre better than Alexander Dumas' The Three Musketeers. It's a story that has been a go to for Hollywood since the days of the Saturday afternoon serial. There have been good, bad and indifferent adaptations and I've seen pretty much all of 'em. I even did a comparison article here.
Below is the trailer for the next incarnation of the tale. It's in French with subtitles but that hardly matters considering how AWESOME this looks. It's gonna be two movies, one in the Spring of 2023 and one at Christmas 2023. Eva Green stars as Miladay and the action, costumes and tone look simply amazing.
Not a blimp in sight. Phew.
